Balancing Work And Family Life for Female Executives
Work Life Integration For Female Executives
For female executives, integrating work and life works efficiently with fast-paced technology, especially for millennials who are adapting well to this reality. The phrase "work-life integration" is blending what you do professionally and personally in order to make both happen. The trending shift (away from work-life flexibility and balance) has happened as fast as the development and speed of technology. Some executive moms may be finding it difficult to step away from the work-life balance they have worked so hard to attain.
Taking meaningful time away from work, whether it be a few hours a day, a weekend or a few days and more vacation can be wonderfully recharging.
Below are a few reasons work-life integration or a variation of it are necessary. Tips towards achieving work-life balance and maintaining personal balance are enumerated below.
1. A recent study by the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) found that more than 50% of workers say that work conflicts with life responsibilities at least two or three times per week. Due to this, about 40% of women have delayed having children.
2. Working remotely is easier than ever! However, this can make it more difficult to separate work and life, creating a natural integration.
Female Executives and CEO's: It's Important
It's important to honor your own bio-rhythms so that you do work when you believe you can perform the best and do personal activities to break up your day. This is one way executive moms can integrate work and life so that they remain sane and are able to accomplish (almost) everything they want to do from a personal and professional perspective. Taking "joy" and exercise-stretch breaks throughout the day clears your mind, stretches muscles and ups the endorphins (feeling good hormones) and creativity factor.
Keeping a flexible calendar and scheduling things like going to the gym, writing articles, reading, meetings, research at around the same time each day can be helpful to get into habits and have more control over what you're doing and when.
The Good News About
Work Life Integration For Mothers
Whether the problem is too much focus on work or too little, when your work life and your personal life feel out of balance, often times stress, along with its harmful effects, is the result. The good news is that most can take control of stress levels by giving yourself the time to do the things that are most important to you. When life literally is beginning to feel "out of control" or "lopsided" and you feel off kilter, give yourself the gift of time to restore balance.
Consider disconnecting as much as necessary for stress reduction and the restoration of balance. Here are some tips to do throughout the day:
- Take Cleansing Breaths: Three sets of deep inhalations through the nose (belly rising) and exhaling through the nose, (abdomen deflating) can (temporarily) change your physiology.
- Stretch: Release/reduce tension and increase energy. Moving Meditation® Fitness Program
- Walk: A five minute walk outside can change your mood and mindset.
- Listen to Music: A mood changer.
- Eat Peacefully: This aids the digestion and gives you "time away". Leave your office!
- Allow Time: Give yourself extra time for the unexpected.
- Smile and Laugh: Humor has been proven effective in reducing stress.
- Take a mini-vacation: Disconnect for a few hours.
- Research has shown optimally 7-8 hours sleep is needed...
Learn relaxation techniques to fall asleep faster and/or if sleep is interrupted (by kids or by yourself) - Wake up a bit earlier than everyone to visualize a positive day and to tap on challenges
Mompreneurs
mom·preneurs
Pronunciation /mämprəˈnər/ /mɑmprəˈnər/noun
A woman who sets up and runs her own business from home while choosing to care for her young child or children.'The rise of the Mompreneurs (Mumpreneurs, UK) comes as more highly educated women are choosing to stay at home with young children. Another factor is the rising cost of childcare and higher awareness of importance of personal balance/wellness.'

Here are a few important strategies for doing this that we incorporate into the coaching process:
~The Importance of Not Doing It All
How to prioritize your business while being a great mom at the same time? Trying to learn and build a business while raising kids is not an easy task — and may seem impossible at times. Really important to schedule time to work, and ask for help… accept that you can’t do it all! Then you can focus on my biggest priorities: my family, business, and health. Pride yourself on not doing it all (no ego!) and focus on what you’re best at - (which may not be cooking or cleaning). When you focus on being business owner, it’s stepping back from operator!
~ Create Clear Boundaries to Prevent Burn-Out
Be detailed about your work schedule in order to grow your business without burning out. Plan time off for yourself and family, including travel. Work less and carve out time for things that give you happiness and allow for creativity to flourish! Get excited for the future! Perhaps dream of and the actually publish a book; speak at events!
Work Life Balance For Female Executives
Study after study shows that when Executive Moms have a balanced family life, they're more creative, energetic, and dependable at work.

A Few Tips For Executive Moms when Balancing Work And Family Life
Organize your life in such a way that your priorities are divided appropriately each day.
Acknowledge the goals that are most important to you and let them be your guide.
Teamwork
Trust the people you work with and allow yourself to share your duties with them. You will be able to create more time for what's most important.
Time
Over time, our lives can become burdened with unnecessary time distractions. Optimize yourself by avoiding whatever wastes your time. Take a look at how you spend each minute of your day. Remove the needless time consumers.
Time for an an outlet
We all need some type of outlet. There are many ways for you to release stress. Stay mentally healthy and keep things in a proper perspective.
Let's be flexible
Sticking too rigidly to your expectations can create undue stress. It's important to be flexible in how you deal with the disarray life brings. Improvise and adapt.
Embrace Change
As parents, we must recognize when our family can take on more responsibilities, and when we can raise our expectations. Our professional lives will also evolve. Professionally, we must be able to guide ourselves through the transitions at work.
Take Care of Yourself
You must make time for what's important for your own mental and physical health. Exercise, creativity, a social life, are the kinds of things that can easily disappear from our days because we can get so so busy with work and family. Prioritize a realistic routine that keeps time for you as an important goal. Acknowledge what you need and set aside the time to take care of you.

Work Life Balance For Female Executives In Today's Competitive World
In this productivity-driven world, more and more female executives are finding it hard to balance their roles both at home and at the workplace.
Some feelings that may arise:
- feeling overwhelmed
- feeling that you are missing out on family life.
- difficulty handling stress
- too tired or busy to enjoy your social life.
It is very important to us that we are able to achieve the balance between our work and our family life. This may seem to be a very intimidating task. I myself have struggled to balance my career and personal life at one time, and ultimately I was able to find success.
Allow me to share a little with you about how I balanced work and family life:
I made the decision to find balance.
I have learned through my experience that it is important to make a realistic effort to provide yourself the opportunity for balance.
I involved people I trust in the process.
I used to think that I was the only one who could do everything I had to deal with on a daily basis. Over time, I realized that there I didn't have to do it alone. I was forced to become aware of the issues that I needed to improve. I made sure that my family understood my obligations and responsibilities at work. This created more understanding on their part.
Accepting that imbalance is sometimes unavoidable.
With the ongoing struggle to attain balance between work and family, I was able to realize that there will always be times that I will have to let work or family take priority.
It may be impossible to achieve perfect balance in everything in your life at all times.
Sometimes balancing family and work has no easy or instant solution. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. All Executive Mothers must, at some point, find specific solutions to their issues depending on their own needs.

7 ways I've learned to assert myself as a young woman at work

It probably won't surprise you to hear that, as a woman in finance and consulting, I've worked for a series of male supervisors. Given that women hold only 9% of senior roles in venture capital, 6% of senior roles in private equity, and 16-25% of management roles in the major consultancies, odds are good that most young female employees in these professions will be managed by older, male managers. Because of the gender imbalance, these women may find themselves to be one of a handful of women at their company.
